The Berlin Wall Jewelry is NOT for sale...it was custom work done for an elderly wonderfully interesting married couple that have a summer residence down the beach from us. Leo (from USA) met Rose (from Berlin) while stationed in Germany in the 1950's. In 1955, Leo got Rose out and he married her in USA. Her family members were warned to leave East Berlin, but it was their home! On August 13, 1961, the wall between West and East Berlin started going up at midnight.
They had friends who lived lakefront...after the wall went up, they could not even see the lake!! It stayed like that for 28 years. The wall finally came down, quicker than it went up, in 1989. Leo, Rose and family visited and brought back pieces of the wall. Leo and Rose are the most interesting people I know...she makes the BEST baked goods, too!
